The Presidential Scholarship is the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's highest form of academic recognition for its top deserving undergraduates. 总统奖学金是伊利诺伊大学香槟分校的最高学术荣誉，颁发给该校最优秀的学生。 The scholarship was created in 1972 by Governor Richard B. Ogilvie and has been awarded annually since then to a graduating high school senior who will be attending U of I this fall as an incoming first-year student，and whose academic background indicates that he or she is capable of outstanding achievement while enrolled at U of I. 该奖学金于 1972 年由州长理查德·B·奥吉尔维（Richard B. To qualify， students must have a combination of outstanding accomplishments in academics，extracurricular activities and demonstrated leadership qualities. Additionally，students applying for the award must show evidence of financial need and plan to participate in the Federal Work Study Program if they are offered a position.
